Poured a deep red color with a small white head. Carbonation was good. Nose is malty, sweet and you could smell the hops in this beer. Bready as well. The taste followed the nose pretty damn close. It was a well balanced, tasty and chewy beer. Not a fan of this style but it was good.

Served in a pint glass.
Appearance: Dark, nearly opaque, reddish brown body with short, loose, frothy, tan head. Looks quite thick. Looks kinda like a brown ale; seems too dark for a red. Decent retention. Not much lacing to speak of. Still looks pretty tasty.
Smell: Not getting much of anything in the beginning. Some toasted malt aromas and faint caramel. As it warms, caramel comes on stronger and orange and pine notes join the mix. Overall, pretty bland and faint, but there's still nothing bad about it. EDIT: Got a lot of herbal hops in the nose the second time around. EDIT: Third time around, smelled like nothing. Even after it warmed up it had almost no scent.
Taste: Roasted malt / toasted bread form the backbone. Also getting caramel and pine. Mild hops come in for the clean-up. Once again, kinda bland. EDIT: Got a lot of herbal hops and chocolate the second time around. rhertan was convinced that I had had a bad pour the first time around, and indeed this time it was much better.
Mouthfeel: Well-carbonated and smooth. Medium in body, chewy, and somewhat crisp.
Drinkability: Really wish there was some added sweetness and or bitterness in this one. This beer just doesn't go anywhere. I could drink this again, but why? There's nothing bad about it, but there ain't much good either.
