In a flight.
Well poured with an half inch of head.
Smell was not as spicy as I like. A holiday beer should be spicy enough that you don't want to have it any other time of year.
Taste was better than average not bitter.
Mouth feel, light, again a holiday ale should feel festive like you'd drink out from a tankard.
Would have again.

Purchased at Creekside Brewing Co. in December 2010. Bottle #50. Holy Night and Silent Night are the first, and up to this point only, Creekside beers to be bottled.
Poured into a New Belgium globe.
Appearance: Poured straight down the center, which netted close to a quarter inch of dense, khaki foam. Head slowly decayed to a fine film, but a steady column of carbonation creates a nice bulls-eye in the center. When held to light, the body shows off crystal clarity and a bright, mahogany color. Consistent, stringy lacing. I dig.
Smell: Nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom, and gingerbread combine to produce an aroma reminiscent of Christmas and sticky buns. Softly sweet and spicy; certainly mellower than the fresh, draft version. Pleasant.
Taste: Nutmeg, cardamom, and cinnamon come through once again, along with caramel and a metallic off-flavor. The metal dips in and out - when it's there, it dominates; when it's not, the flavor profile is pretty enjoyable. The spices balance well with the base beer, and all in all this beer tastes solid.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, spicy, and delicately carbonated. Finishes clean and dry, which accentuates the spices nicely, although I think I'd like a bit more sweetness in the finish. Aftertaste is pretty mellow, but certainly present. Nothing special, but works well for this one.
Overall: Not a great winter spiced ale, but a good representation of the style. The metallic off flavor screws with the taste a bit, but I happily downed this whole bomber while watching some Southpark.
