Poured from a 22oz bottle into a tulip glass, no freshness date on bottle.

A- Dark Amber, tobacco, limited head, dissipates quickly.

S- Very subdued fruit esters, raisin, nothing much else.

T- Lack of sweetness up front, harsh bitterness on the finish, sinewy beef and rough cut lumber.

M- very thin, watery, not full sweetness, very little roast, flavor is muted heavily.

O- I had high hopes for this beer, and was let down substantially. If tastes without a label, one would not detect that it was a scotch ale. Low residual sweetness, low malty roast, no body what-so-ever, no peat or smoked malt. A significant let down. As a celebration of their 5th Anniversary it is embarassing.
