Picked up a growler today as a reward for recycling!

A - Crystal clear deep copper hue. Thin white head, settles at a quarter inch. Minimal lacing, probably due to being poured from a growler.

S - Some grassy hop notes, fruity esters, and grainy malt nose.

T - Grapefruit & grassy hop bitterness. Clean up front, bitterness hits in the second wave. Bitter finish with a touch of cocoa powder at the tail end.

M & D - Crisp & clean, and very drinkable. ABV was listed on the beer list as 5.7%.

I bought a growler on a saturday, which was filled directly from the bar tap. Its is now Monday, two days from filling. The beer pours a nice half inch head but not very much carbonation in the glass. Light amber color. Very nice. Light aroma of hops. The beer has a nice balance of hops and malt. I had a couple pints of this at the brewery and remember it being better there. I think the lack of attention the bartender took to fill the growler is seriously affect the way this beer presents itself today.

Review is of Stone Coast Batch 420 IPA. Since stonecoast.com now directs to Sunday River figured this was the best place to review it.

Large tan head. Well carbonated. Cloudy burnt orange color. Aroma is flowery sweet, citrusy and earthy. Starts dry and well carbonated. Mild citrus hop presence that increases towards the finish. Some caramel in the middle. Finish is bitter and lingering. Moderate alcohol. Medium body.

Could see getting this again when in Maine.

Light amber in color, clear; The glass doesn't allow for much of a head, but given the lace, I think it would be very good.

The aroma is very attractive--lots of floral hop. Fresh.

The beer is what one expects from an IPA, a good malt base with a generous offering of hops. The predominant flavor (for the hop) is grapefruit. The body is neutral as is the malt base.

This was my favorite of the offering at this brew pub.

Into a pint glass, pours a nice cloudy amber with a quarter inch head receding to a nice film, excellent lacing. Aroma is pretty week, particularly when compared to taste, but a nice pine hop nonetheless. Taste has a good hop contigent, floral and piney, a bit of grapefruit, the tiniest bit of sweet malt peeking through. Good, but rather one dimensional. Rather agressive carbonation, good body. A pretty solid beer, website says "perfect with spicy mexican or buffalo wings" and i'm starting to think they're right, tasty on its own right though, something I'd happily pick up a 6er of.
