A 330ml bottle with a BB of Sept 2017. Purchased recently from Home Bargains. Described as a continental-style lager and named after a racing greyhound.
A: Poured into a pilsner glass. Bottle conditioned. A rich golden colour with plenty of fine suspended sediment and light carbonation. Produces a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or so before settling and dissipating.
S: Aroma of dry, earthy yeast with hints of grainy malt, faint barley sugar, subtle leafy hops and a touch of cardboard. OK but unexciting.
T: Tastes of earthy yeast with notes of grainy malt, light barley, husks, vague leafy hops and a faint herbal quality. Dry, with a very subtle bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with soft carbonation and decent body. A shade more carbonation would add texture. Aftertaste of earthy lager yeast, grain and a mild bitterness.
O: A cut above the macros but nothing special. Looks alright but the head retention needs work. Aroma and flavour have a mature yeasty character however the hop presence is very mild. Body is OK; carbonation could be better. Drinkable enough but not a brew to go out of your way for.
