A 330ml bottle with a BB of Nov 2017. Purchased a little while back from B&M.
A: Poured into a tulip. Bottle conditioned. A deep reddish-marmalade hue with good carbonation and plentiful floating sediment. Produces a large head of creamy off-white foam with decent stability; this slowly reduces to a thick surface layer. Some lacing.
S: Aroma of grainy caramel malt with hints of fruity ale yeast, subtle green apple, earthiness, husks and faint stewed leaves. OK but muddled - a bit too yeasty.
T: Tastes of grainy malt with notes of fruity yeast, earthiness, mild green apple, caramel, husks and stewed leaves. Pretty dry, followed by a moderate bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and dry, with spritzy carbonation and good body. Mildly astringent. Aftertaste of earthy, fruity yeast, grainy malt, mild caramel and bitter stewed leaves.
O: Decent but not outstanding. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are quite yeast-dominated with the malt and hops taking a back seat. Nice body. Drinkable but doesn't leave much impression. No need to hunt it down.
