Limestone had the 6450 available on tap last night and I thought it was one of their better offerings. The beer poured rich clear red with good white head that laced. The smell was more malt and had hints of sweetness (maple). The taste was very good, well balanced. There was enough maple/molasis to balance the usual malt taste in red ales. The mouth feel was good, definite session beer. Overall it was pretty good!

Served in a shaker pint glass at the brewpub.

I'm pretty sure this is my first review for a beer that was brewed in honor of a rotary club. Right on. It pours a clear sunrise amber topped by a finger of light cream froth. The nose comprises caramel, pretzels, and a light bit of brown sugar/cinnamon blend. The taste holds notes of smooth caramel (isn't that a Michael Jackson (the Beer Hunter) song?), light buttery biscuits, orange peel, nutmeg, and a touch of light cotton candy. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, a pretty nice red, one I think the rotary club can be proud of.

Brewed for the Plainfield Rotary Club, District 6450, this Red Ale is a sweet, malty American Red Ale. With strong caramel notes coming from the 4 different kinds of barley malt, and a subtle balance of Columbus and Simcoe hops. Pairs nicely with our Classic Angus Burger. Limestone is also proud to donate $.50 of every 6450 sold to the Rotary Club to benefit local charities!

Poured from a growler into a Le Cheval Blanc pint glass.

Pours a deep ruby with two fingers of light tan head. The head leaves some nice lacing.

Aromas of citrus (orange) hops and a deep, malty, caramel background.

First sip is of malt and hops in a very nice balance. There is a nice play between the citrusy hop bitterness and the sweet caramel malt. No astringency.

Mouthfeel is light but not watery. Chewy malt and very smooth drinking beer.

Highly drinkable beer. Perfect for a session beer. I may have to finish the growler myself tonight.
