Sampled this one from my sister's glass. 8 oz. poured into a snifter on January 21st, 2012.

A - Incredibly clear, deep golden brown, bourbon-like hue. Similar to the Ukranium crusher, really no head, retention, or lacing whatsoever. Limestone has some flat-looking beers.

S - Belgian yeast flavors of malts grains, light fruits, citrus, rye bread, and some sort of sugar.

T - Drinks more like a belgian IPA. Candied sugar, light hop notes, yeast characters at the backend with plentiful caramel malts.

M - Medium body, low carbonation (for the style), sweet medium-length finish with bready aftertaste.

D - This is very different from any other tripel I've had, particularly in feel. It's much heftier and less crisp. I appreciate the unique light citrus and sweet additions to the overall drink.

Served in a snifter at the brewpub.

Finally, something to compete with "Steel Monkey" and the Rally Monkey. It pours a cloudy light-tawny-amber topped by a half-finger of white foam. The nose comprises banana, mandarin orange, clove, lemon zest, black pepper, and light caramel. The taste brings in more of the same, with more clove, more black pepper, and some new lemon rind. The body is a stolid medium, with a moderate carbonation and a pretty dry finish. Overall, a very nice tripel. 'Nuff said.

Brewed to comemorate the "caged monkey in the brewhouse" If you visit the pub, you'll understand how the brewers feel.

Served in a small goblet with a serving of cranberry stilton cheese. Very nice pairing. You gotta try it!

Pours a slightly hazy, golden hue with a white head that drops fairly quickly.

Aromas of spicey yeast, no real hop or malt aromas. Hard candy sweetness.

Flavors of sweet malt, balancing hop bitterness, a slight alcohol burn. Lemony.

Mouthfeel is medium, spicey yeasty burn, alcohol warmth.

Highly drinkable, and dangerously drinkable. One of the best efforts so far by Ken and Steve. The cheese pairing is spot on.
