Lucky Bucket Wide Eye Coffee Stout, 5.2% ABV. Pours medium viscosity and black, with no head or lacing. Nose is slight coffee and a hint of chocolate. Taste is more chocolate than coffee, but both are slight, and there isn't much bitterness. OK mouthfeel, overall excellent. Some might call this bland and watery, which is what I was thinking before the chocolate came out. Could easily be passed off as a porter.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce bottle into pint glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent new release. Pours crystal clear very dark brown color with a 1-2 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big nutty medium roast coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted brown bread; with light vanilla, smoke, dark fruit, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of coffee and dark/roast/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big nutty medium roast coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted brown bread; with light vanilla, smoke, dark fruit, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal hop and roasted coffee bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of nutty coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, light vanilla/smoke, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of coffee and dark/roast/bready malt flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Lightly drying from roast/hop bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. A touch thin, but nice considering the ABV. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a very nice coffee stout! All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of coffee and dark/roast/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Very flavorful for the session ABV; tons of great nutty/fruity coffee and malt complexity. A very enjoyable offering.

Dark brown, small light lacing and head.
Aroma of sour brown malts, cold brew coffee, slight mud/wet dirt.
Flavor is coffee forward although not particularly fresh, just lots of ground coffee. Hot fudge underneath. Roast malts accompany.
Feel is roasty but medium bodied, a little lighter than I'd like in a stout.
Overall, a little underwhelming but not something I'd say you should pass. It's a worthy effort for in the coffee stout genre.
