A: Poured a dark brown to black into my DFH shaped pint with a finger of tan head that leaves a bit of lacing.
S: Rye and dark malts, burnt coffee, and some hoppy notes that present some light citrus notes.
T: A lot better than the nose; french roasted coffee and dark dried fruits are right up front followed in shortly by light citrus and grassy hops. A pumpernickle flavor is left on the tongue for a short time after the beer is gone.
MF: Very astringent and effervescent, medium body but a bit too watery in texture.
O: From my understanding they wanted to see what would happen if they conditioned a rye beer like their sticke alt and it worked great. This is my new favorite rye and I hope they make it again.
