Draft at Blind Lady Ale House, March 2013.
Pours a hazy, pale golden orange color with apricot edges and a 1.5 finger, frothy white head that slowly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lace left behind.
Dank floral hop aroma that's exploding with citrus and tropical fruit notes along with grassy pine, dank buds and a subtle pale malt backbone. Lots of grapefruit, pineapple and citrus peel along with biscuit and crackery malts.
Medium bodied with a grassy hop bite that lingers over the sweeter fruit notes and pale malt backbone into a crisp, dry finish. Grassy, dry and bitter with dank pine needle and resinous oils countered by grapefruit and orange peel sweetness. Not quite as tropical/citrusy as the nose suggests and also has a more aggressive malt character than expected. Hints of biscuit, toffee, light fruit, bread and cracker. Subtle boozy sweetness in the finish but still very easy to drink.
