I'll start off by saying that I've never had this style before. Served in a 16 ounce pint glass, slightly chilled.
Smallish head and very mild carbonation. The coloring is very dark with reddish tints up against the light.
The smell is of malts with roast dominating.
The taste starts out with more bitterness than I expected, then mellows into a very drinkable beer.
