This was not IPA.
When the Bartender brought me a pint my first thought after tasting was that she poured me the wrong beer. Overall the taste was underwhelming, flat and devoid of all IPA character.

My first beer at the Ellicott Mills Brewing Company in Ellicott City Maryland. Menu describes the beer as:
IPA- American IPA brewed with pacific northwest hops. 7.3%
Reviewed from notes.
(Appearance) Pours a mildly hazy copper tone with a thick head that retains about average. Pretty solid appearance. 4
(Smell) Sweet candied malt aroma and a touch of hops in the background, far less than the average IPA. A very sweet-smelling IPA. Interesting. 3
(Taste) Creamy amber Malt flavor and a touch of bitter hop on the finish. Mild American IPA. Very quaffable and enjoyable. 4
(Mouthfeel) Creamy mouthfeel, quite mild and compliments the subtle flavors of the mouth. Light/Med body. Alcohol presence is low, masked by the subtle bitterness of the taste. Nice pairing. 4
(Overall) Nice take on the style. Flavors are pleasantly mild while the bitterness is on par with other IPAS. It does a good job overall. 3.5
