Picked this up at a great little beer store in Arlon, Miorge Mihoublon. This was a bit of a gusher when I opened it, but luckily I saved most of it. Murky amber-brown pour with huge four finger beige head with great retention and decent lacing. Wonderful earthy, malty nose with hints of tobacco, soy sauce, brown sugar, tea, and caramel with just a touch of herbal hops. The taste is much the same with the earthy malt dominating. Hints of tea, tobacco, soy sauce, toffee, caramel, weak coffee notes, toasted nuts, and some subtle pine and chocolate. The mouthfeel is a bit thin but has a nice dry bitter finish. This is definitely a unique IPA. It actually has more of a Brown Ale feel to it. Perhaps Toccalmatto has stumbled on a new style: a Brown IPA! Either way, another great offering from Italy's finest.
