Bottled in a sadly clear glass bottle and part of a ‘British Ales’ 4 beer box set
Pours a light wheat coloured body with decent enough white head
Aroma is brewing sugars
The flavour is a malt led slight sweet then slightly bitter along with tinniness presumably the start of skunking

(Notes of January 2009) Tasted by a pint at the Angels Inn, the oldest building in my town, Andover, and now a Greene King pub which surprisingly serves one guest ale consistently in great condition. This pint was no exception.
A: pours a bright, dark-straw hue with great clarity, coming with a fluffy/soapy white head and low carbonation.
S: stinky dried yellow-grapefruit peels and biscuity hints of Maris Otter come along with boiled root-veggie, nectar, white plums, and pears... Gradually, the syrupy sweet edge of malts takes over and slightly disturbs the original harmony.
T: the foretaste is predominantly hoppy - fresh floral and lightly grapefruity hops plus lightly stinky earthy hops, on top of clean yet gristy pale malts, seamlessly transforming into a zesty/citric bitter aftertaste that lasts beautifully. Clean in the finish, but a brilliant level of bitterness always lingers.
M&D: refreshing, low carbonation, very hoppy, all in all a spot'on golden bitter that is more-ish especially in summer!
