a good beer, probably my 4th favorite of the lovibonds brews after their IPA , Dark reserve english porter, and Amber bitter ale.
smells like a campfire,a bit of dryed oak leaves going on.
a swell brew, from a very respectable micro brew,
ive never had a beer this smokey though, its a bit like lucifers bath water.
the smokey flavor was quite over-powering of the other good qualities like the coffee hint and natury malt.
however, this is a complex brew and was a delight to experience , i know people who would probably dig this bad boy.

Dark by name and dark it is, pouring a very deep ruby colour topped with a big fluffy head. The nose was great, smokey coffee all over the place. Again this a grand beer to drink, the coffee wasn't overpowering, the body was smooth, velvety and laced with chocolate, and there was excellent dry bitterness with just set everything off nicely. I would happily sit in a pub all night drinking this, preferably near a roaring log fire and with an Irish wolfhound at my feet.
