Served on nitro at POPE in Philadelphia. Creamy, luscious look with a nice coffee-colored head and tremendous lacing.
Smells of chocolate, coffee, roastiness, vanilla and cigar shop. The taste is sweet and smooth, with a more pronounced coffee feel and some coconut at the end of the sip. No cherry flavor, tough, and definitely none of the sourness you would expect from a beer "infused" with cherries.
The mouthfeel is on point for a nitro pour, super creamy and easy. It could use a little more heft, though, and it is also a filling belly-buster.
Overall, I am rating this high because it is incredibly drinkable for an imperial porter, it is tasty and well-crafted all around. It won't shatter your world, but it is mighty satisfying.
