Had on tap today at "The Pub"

A- Served a pale golden yellow color. Little half finger head on the top of this that dies rather quickly. Soapy lacing all down the glass as I drink it down.

S- There is a distinct wheat smell with this...almost more malty than wheaty in the smell. Some lemony background notes. Along with this there is light spice. Nothing more and nothing is really over the top.

T- There is a almost grainy malty extract taste to this the entire beer. Big wheaty malts in the front with a lemon hint. The lemon hint becomes much stronger the rest of the beer. Some light spicing in the end of this beer. There is a distinct almost extract taste with this beer. Not bad but a little different.

M- Light medium mouthfeel. Carbonation is a little lacking in this beer. Beer felt heavier in the mouth than it should. Wheaty malts and lemon grass flavor left on the palate and in the aftertaste. Not quite clean tasting as much as it tried.

D- This was a drinkable beer. It wasn't my favorite in the style but....there are a lot worse beers to drnk. I would say this is a little more like a pale wheat than anything else. Would have again...maybe just at The Pub though.

On-tap at the brewery plus took a 22-ounce carry-home. My ratings are probably higher than my overall impression, however. Not much of a true Heffe in my opinion but still a rather nice light summer-style beer, very clean and quenching. More like a summer blonde ale, however.

A= pale-yellow, almost no head.

S= very intriguing scents, as are some of their other beers-- something along the lines of hints of some sort of vegetable-- artichoke, who knows-- or maybe like fresh-boiled kidney beans. Intriguing. Actually, maybe like the smell of a coffee-grinder just after grinding some nice Eight O'Clock coffee- sorta.

T= a bit watery overall, but clean-tasting. Whatever's giving the unusual scent also leaves me with the impression that it's like urban city water through old copper pipes but the beer's too clean for that (I assume?!?!?). A little citrusy and woodsy. Maybe it's that ground-coffee effect that's in the scent-- very interesting once you get used to it.

M= a little flat and watery but clean, with some intriguing challenges to ponder.

D= very drinkable, but if you're searching for a perfect Heffe or an outstanding beer, you'll be disappointed.

Appearance: Pours a bright yellow body with a small, fizzy white head.

Smell: Malted wheat aroma with a small dase of spice and a garnish of lemon.

Taste: Sweetish, tart spiced lemon and wheat malt. Mild bitterness. Tangy, sour lemon finish and it's over!

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation.

Drinkability: It's hard not to be bearish about this beer investment. Sell! Sell!!

A very drinkable, if average, wheat beer. It's got a fairly strong citrus flavor to it and a very light amount of hops/ Like most beers from the Mishawaka Brew Pub, it doesn't have very much carbonation. It is probably one of the lightest tasting beers they make, and is a nice alternative for summer drinking.

Straw yellow, no head and lively carbonation crawling up the side of my glass. Very light citrus hops, and some wheaty notes. Tasted quite grainy with some hop flavor. Soapy. Nice body. Not much carbonation on the palate. Sweet. Pleasant. Good for the unexpirenced craft beer drinker.

Slight subtile flavors... but quite weak like their other wheat offering. There was no retention at all in the head. Slight golden color. I love this style and this is why I was quite hard on this beer. It was served with a lemon.. and that will help. Overall below average for an American Wheat Ale.
