German-Style Lager. Amber in color, with fragrant notes of deep-toasted malt, and is exceptionally smooth due to the “cold” fermentation process. This medium-bodied, traditional lager is the perfect beer for celebrating the changing of the seasons as we move from summer into fall. PROST!

The Ren Faire tapped their Octoberfest Marzen the weekend I was there and what a treat it was.
A: Orangish, copper/light amber color with medium lacing
S: A slightly matly smell. Could also pickup the aroma of a bread-like dough smell.
T: Excellent! Could taste some maltiness and a few spices. One of the better Octoberfest beers I have had this Fall.
D: If I didn't pull myself away from the bar, I could have consumed this all day long. A true Marzen-style beer!

I brought a growler home from the fair and now on a fresh palate sitting in the comfort of my own home I really enjoy this beer even better than I did the first time around. I decided to pour it into my commemorative Swashbuckler pub glass so I could feel nostalgic about the Faire.
Appearance: Pours a beautiful amber brown color with a decent head (even from the growler and moderate lacing.
Smell: Bread caramel apple malt and grain.
Taste: crisp fresh grain, malty bread flavors, caramel and a hint of hops. The aftertaste is tart apple with ginger spice and a bit dry. It clings to the cheeks relentlessly. (mmm the burp is tasty too ;-)
Mouthfeel: medium body with a juicy center and a very easy finish.
Drinkability: Boy this is easy drinking. I promised to share some of my growler with friends tomorrow and after my second glass I still want more.
Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!
