About a finger's worth of mocha-brown head with decent retention. Color was a brownish amber with NE quality clarity. Nose was very sweet and a little on the hot side. Mouthfeel was medium with a malty taste on the tongue. Finish was pleasant, even a bit yeasty, but overall it seemed as though it needed to age a bit longer.

I had this on draft at Bube's in Mt. Joy a while ago but forgot to post. I thought this was one of the best Swashbuckler beers I've had. It smelled great in the glass and looked pretty good, too, a nice dark brown. Compared to most of the Alts I've had, this beer really showed some complex malts with a decent hop backbone that lasted trhough the finish. A really decent beer.

Thanks to woodychandler for sharing the growler.
This beer pours a glowing amber with a touch of cherry topped off with an irregular film.
Smells of a dry dusty smoothness with touches of under-ripe strawberry and celery. There a dry autumn leaf to balance this one out.
Tastes dry and distant but playful with the same under-ripe fruits and celery that reminds me much of a garden salad. This is accompanied by a dry string of leaves.
Feels glassy smooth with a ever-so-slight thickening carbonation. Nice. If only more beers were this smooth but present.
A tasty take on the style and quite easy to take down.
