Served on tap at the PA Renaissance Faire.
Pours a clear, dark honey color with a thin head of creamy off-white (almost tan) colored head. Retains nicely around the edges and leaves a good cascade of lace down the sides of the mug. The aroma is fresh, earthy, Noble hops with an underlying bready malt sweetness.
The taste is a fresh, tingling (yet earthy) profile of Czech Noble hops up front with a sturdy backbone of bread and caramel malts. Very nice balance between the hops and malt that finishes slightly bitter and dry on the palette. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a crisp feel and moderately poppy carbonation.
A really tasty, crisp, and easy drinking Pils to enjoy on this warm opening weekend of the Faires 28th season. Interesting that this is the 2nd Pils in South Central PA to be named after a type of falcon.
