I am told this is the Sharkbait Saison aged in a Chardonnay barrel with brettanomyces added. I had this at the Mt Hope Brewfest early in the day and later several samples.
A - A deep amber w/ a small white cap w/ tiny bead, mild haze and light lace
S -Fruit scents are bountiful - white grape, and brett nose w/ slight funk and citrus
M - Mild acidity, very dry w/ subtle oaky texture and spice from the saison yeast strain.
T - A gentle lemony sour w/ citrus and dry oaky flavorw/ hints of subtle spice from the spicy Saison yeast. A crisp tinge of grape(chardonnay) w/ a brett accent and mild green pepper taste from the yeast. A nice dry finish of oak rounds out the layers of sourness.
D - A tasty saison w/ nice oak flavor, but overall is tart and the belgian yeast is taking a backseat and brett adds mild complexity. This is a very drinkable beer for the most part
