Served on-tap during the Celtic Fling this past weekend. Poured into a 16 ounce pint glass.
A: Clear copper body with a slightly off-white head that left some decent retention and no lacing. This, however, is way too dark for a wheat beer of any kind. The SRM looks to be probably 17 or so, when in reality it should be more around 6-8.
S: Dark berry fruits - blackberry, blueberry and some raspberry. It's actually a pretty nice smelling beer. There is a decent wheat component to help balance out a fruit overload, which is done quite nicely. Unfortunately, there isn't too much depth overall here.
T: Wheat is the dominant component and the fruit flavors just can't really compete. Some blackberry and blueberry does try to creep through, but it comes off almost candied not natural. It's fairly weak in comparison and the balance just isn't right - nothing gets showcased in terms of flavor and this becomes a bit gross after a while.
M: Well carbonated, spritzy and bubbly. A bit thin but it's fairly in line with the style, maybe just dial back the carbonation a bit and this would be more robust.
I always like to try a "new" beer when I'm at the PA Renn Faire and this one was new to me. I actually enjoy their standard offerings but this needs to have some serious tweaking done before it's to a point where this isn't a chore to finish.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
