Poured from a growler by the brewers in Hollingshead Deli in Orange, Calif. This was a special treat. Reviewed from notes.
A- Two finger thick white head. Little retention and no real lacing to speak of. Clear light brown color.
S- Smells surprisingly fruity. Some nuttiness as well. Lacks typical German hef. characteristics.
T- Wheat, some spices, but this biggest flavor is just cream soda. Not sure what happened here. Not hef. like.
M- Creamy and smooth with a bit of a carbonated bite at the end.
O- A tasty beer at a reasonable price...but nothing I'd call a Hefeweizen.

On tap at Churchill’s Pub & Grille in San Marcos, CA.
Pours a clear goldwith a foamy bone colored head that settles to a ring of foam around the edge of the glass. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, wheat, yeast, spices, and slight banana. Taste is much the same but very mild with a slight spice finish. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty average beer that is somewhat drinkable but nothing I would go for again.
