Reviewed from notes taken in Summer 2014:
On-draught at a bar.
HEAD: ~1 finger in height. White colour. No lacing. Average retention.
BODY: Clear pale copper of average vibrance. Clean.
AROMA: Helles malt sweetness, 6-row barley, and...that's it.
A muted aroma of mild intensity.
TASTE: Helles malt sweetness. 6-row barley. Shallow and simple, lacking any subtlety or depth.
Average flavour duration and flavour intensity.
I do like it generally speaking, but it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of complexity and diversity of flavour.
No yeasty notes or overt hoppy notes are present.
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, syrupy, thick, overcarbonated. Subpar execution.
Suits the taste okay, but fails to elevate the beer as a whole or to accentuate specific flavours.
OVERALL: Definitely drinkable, but boring and generic. It's standard macroswill and I wouldn't get it again, but it's not repugnant fare and I've had worse.
