Książęce Baltic Porter is inspired by the beer style that became popular in the 19th century in Russia and the Baltic countries.
This is an essential beer brewed using the bottom fermentation method. It is characterized by a full taste, aromas of coffee, caramel and chocolate, and a black cherry color thanks to the use of dark, roasted malts. Warming, noble alcohol notes intertwine with malt aromas. This complements the beer's profile with accents of ripe cherries and black currants.

Międzyzdroje 17/7 2019. 50 cl bottle at La Traviata. Very black label with a somber gentleman in gold with some maritime paraphernalia.
Pours dark opaque brown with a medium-sized light beige head. Settles as thin layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Moderately intensive aroma. Very much on the sweet side. Caramel, brown sugar, and coffee. Light odor of metal lurking in the background.
Light carbonation. Soft, slightly thick, almost flat texture.
Flavor is fairly sweet followed by a very moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a light metallic tang. Lingers for a while.
Solid sweet porter which manages to hide the ABV pretty well - apart from a discrete metallic vibe.

Not generally a fan of Baltic Porters at all, but this was well done. Lightly bitter, with a stark malt bill carrying notes of chocolate, roasty coffee, and caramel. Finish is smooth.
