Appearance: Black with a short tan head that lasted until I was completely done. Leaves an absurd amount of lacing on the glass.
Smell: Malt and chocolate.
Taste: Up front it is malty with some cocoa and coffee, with very mild sweetness. This fades into mild bitterness, wood, and alcohol (faint considering it's 8.0%ABV).
Mouthfeel: Moderately carbonated and really thick.
Overall: Very solid Imperial Stout. Great mouthfeel. Plenty of flavor, even if it is pretty standard.
Oct. 15, 2014:
Had this on tap a second time and was really disappointed. The flavors were off, like it had oxidized. By the time I was finished it was completely flat. Maybe it was a really old keg the second time. My overall score listed is an average of what I would give the beer from the two tries.
