Virpasar 7/8 2015. 50 cl can from local market Voli. Black label with a lot of gold.
Pours dark reddish brown with an off-white head. A little bit bubbly. Dissipates fairly fast leaving only a thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma of dark roasted malts and caramel. Sweet toffee and a little bit of brown sugar.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, oily, lively and tingling texture.
flavor is lightly sweetish - follows the nose. Caramel and something roasted.
By far the best of the Nikšićko family.

Poured from 500mL can into a tumbler. Date on the can is 6/7/25 so I’m guessing that’s the best-by date. My first Montenegrin beer!
Appearance: rich dark brown hue, almost black, that lets just about no light at all through the body. Head is a finger of frothy tan foam.
Smell: sweet malt with a bit of caramel and a bit of roastiness, along with plenty of yeasty character. Not bad, though not super exciting.
Taste: caramel, just a hint of roast, and a fair dose of sweetness. A pretty classic schwarzbier, if a bit sweet. Not too bad.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: pretty good, although on the sweet side for the style and for my taste.

Drunk at a "?" restauarant in Belgrade (Serbia).
Dark brown-black body topped by a creamy tan head.
Smooth medium-full body with light carbonation.
Overly drank, hop-forward aroma with better and more balanced flavor.
It is nice.

Pours a very dark, translucent ruby with a thick, off white head that rapidly fades.
Light nose of raisins and malt.
Palate of molasses and sweet malt. Low carbonation and very light mouthfeel.
Definite swartzbier character but does not the evolved character of the best examples.

500ml Can brought back from Montenegro as a gift:
A nice beer & one that definitely went down better than their Pivo did. Smooth, easy-going beer that had a pleasant roasted taste & some nice dark malts coming through. It kept things simple & the balance wasn't bad either, a nice beer but not the best dark lager from the region by any stretch sadly.
