Poured nicely from my growler into a Great Lakes Nonic glass.
Awesome frothy thick foam head is dark tan-brown in color. The head retention is very good for a porter, due likely to a large amount of hops- IBU's 29. I like the hop amount and the head, also good lacing. Beer is dark motor-oil brown with a ruby/maroon hue when candled.
Nice mix of floral and some citrus hop aromas in nose giveaway to roasty smoky malt smells.
Taste is simultaneously bold yet balanced. A nice varied malt profile of bitter roast to bready is present. I like that there is no discernable sweetness, no unferm-sugars, good, all malt expressed as body or roastiness. Charred character is spot on. Some bitter burnt roast coffee flavors in finish, complemented/balanced by a residual hop bitterness.
Nice mouthfeel and carbonation level, good for style and the sessionable nature of this Porter. Finishes drying yet still nice lingering viscosity.
I have to agree it would be nice to try this on a nitrogen tap.
An outstanding session porter.

From a 2 liter growler - served in a pint glass. Has a 3 finger brown head that leaves some lacing and the beer is about as black as a stout but you can tell it isn't as thick. Smell is all at once smoky, nutty, earthy, and hoppy, with notes of coffee and chocolate. There is a burst of smoky/nutty malts and hops on the palate that leave a pleasant bitterness (29 IBUs). There is also coffee, chocolate, some sweetness, and a creamy mouthfeel. It has a medium body with nice carbonation that is very smooth - like a can of Guinness Draught - wonder if it was a nitro tap... My only complaint is that I wish the flavor and aroma were a bit more intense. However, it still makes for a good session beer.

Blackish-brown in appearance; nice tan head that takes a bit to dissipate. Smell is roasted malt with some smoke overtones. Taste is decent; some nice creamy overtones with the roastiness and a hint of chocolate. Overall a pretty decent porter; not the best I've had, but decent nonetheless.
