Reviewed on 1/13/05 - had to wait until I had 20 reviews to add the beer. Pours from the growler into the snifter a deep reddish-brown with a 2-3 inch head that leaves some lacing. Smells like Christmas - malt sweetness, gingerbread, and perhaps juniper. Lots of aroma - don't need to swirl it to get a huge whiff. Flavors are gingerbread with low hops and a good malt backbone. Never tasted anything quite like it (the menu says it is spiced with ginger, cinnamon, orange, and coriander). Pairs well with milk chocolate. It's kind-of tingly at colder temps but smoother as it warms. Good but sure to feel it at 7%.
