2 L growler - served chilled in a pint glass. Pours a chill-hazed chestnut with a 2 finger head that overflows from the glass. I poured the second glass better and the head formed nicely after about 10 seconds of settling and left rings of foam and lacing that actually looks like lace on the way down. Fruity/floral ale aromas with citric/tropical hops and a rye background - pleasant, but not very strong. Taste is initially bitter from the hops but the rye is also kinda tart or sour. It has citric, perhaps grapefruit hops with fruity ale flavors and a strong bitterness for 35 IBUs. The body is medium and smooth, with residual hop flavors staying around for a while. Kinda reminds me of their IPA, but with less alcohol and hops and a dose of rye. Maybe they should call it (forgive me) RyePA.
