A pint on nitro-tap at my local brewpub on St. Patty's Day. It pours dark black with a thick inch of extremely dense, beige foam that leaves big sheets/webs/rings of lacing all over the glass. The aroma is very nice, and smells of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. It tastes of roasted/coffee malts, with hints of chocolate, backed by greenish hops that impart a medium, yet sturdy bitterness (36 IBUs). The body is thick and creamy with low carbonation/nitration, both of which combine to create an incredibly smooth body that leaves a medium finish. Overall a well-built Irish stout that is quite drinkable - another respectable beer from Calhoun's.
