Another new brew from my former local brewpub. From a two liter growler in early July 2009; 5.2%, 32 IBUs. It pours a crystal-clear sunshine yellow, with medium carbonation and a big, fluffy white head that leaves decent lacing. Sweet and spicy in the nose - nondescript and simple, but pleasant. Leafy and very spicy hops contribute flavors of hay, lemon, mint? (lemonbalm?), maybe some white pepper, and a bit of a raw bitterness. There is also some grainy pilsner malt and perhaps some Munich malt in there somewhere. Medium body. Another delicious beer from Calhoun's, but it sweetens and loses some of its drinkability as it warms. Not quite as good as their Czech pilsner, but it is very refreshing on a hot Virginia night.
