Part of a F5 sampler pack from Coop Ale.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a pint glass.

Lots and lots of grapefruit aroma and flavor. Really, I would describe this as more of hoppy grapefruit beer, than an IPA.

But I like it. It is luscious and fruity. Full mouthfeel.

This beer has a stronger Grapefruit smell than most grapefruit IPAs, however this is overpowered immediately by the potent flavor. The flavor is far more bitter than other grapefruit IPAs. It relies too much on the grapefruit to provide this bitterness. As much as I love other grapefruit IPAs, this is one I would personally stay away from. It should be noted I do enjoy grapefruit and have been known, at times, to eat a raw grapefruit. This particular beer is relying too much on the grapefruit and less on the beer. While other beers find a good balance in flavor, this one does not.

Nothing wrong here, simply leans far too much toward the grapefruit for me to enjoy regularly. Hazed orange body, lots of lace. Pink grapefruit jumps on the nose immediately and continues to dominate the palate. Sturdy body holds up well but it’s all grapefruit from start finish. I’d like something more subtle but I won’t downgrade it too much based on a personal preference. I might drink more than one in the middle of summer but otherwise I probably won’t revisit.

Pours a chill -hazed gold with a thumb+ of pearl colored head. Nice head retention & lacing

S: Plenty of grapefruit, fades down the home stretch

T: Follows the nose, pink grapefruit to be precise, some dryness & a touch of sweetness up front. Grapefruit & dryness, Finishes dry with plenty of grapefruit

MF: Medim body, medium carbonation, pretty good balance

Nice drinkability. would certainly work in the Summer, perhaps a little too one dimensional as an IPA, but not real flaws
