I see there's not picture for this beer. I'd add one, but I bought a growler via curbside to go in these coronavirus days.
Now, this being a growler and this being an IPA means I'll have to drink it while it is as fresh as possible. This I will gladly do.
For one thing, the name. Mango Alpha Hive. How many major label breweries tout a fruit in the name of a brew, but you don't taste it? Well, that's not the case here.
Mango Alpha Hive pours an orangeish -- hey, mango! -- color. It was poured into a rastal teku glass, which I'm still experimenting with, but it works for this Coop Ale Works IPA. The taste? Mango right from the start. Sweet and fruity are subdued, the mango floating atop the honeyed IPA. At 100 IBUs, it has the hoppiness that even novice IPA drinkers look for. But this is a sophisticated bitterness, and at 9.1% ABV, it's a smooth buzz.
