Poured from a 12 ounce can into a Royal Gorge souvenir pint glass. Appearance is yellow and hazy like unfiltered cider. It looks like a hazy IPA should look. Moderate white head leaves a little lacing. The nose is heavily tropical. Passion fruit, maybe some lemon.
Tastes great. I was expecting more bitterness from an IPA but I’m not disappointed. This is juicy, refreshing and hop forward without being aggressively bitter.
I just cracked the first can in a 6 pack of this spring seasonal and I already know I’ll be picking up another before it leaves. I wouldn’t rate a beer any higher based on such things but the local in-jokes on the can notes are excellent.
Pours a hazy gold with a thumb of pearl colored head. Average head retention & lacing
S: Melons, guava, peaches
T: Follows the nose, getting white grape as well, dryness as well up front. Green melon & white grape as this warms, a little Bartlett Pear as well, plus dryness. Finishes with plenty of green melon, some pear & dryness
MF: Lively carbonation, with light/medium body, good balance
