On tap at Mt. Emily, 1.6.11, $3 for 8 oz. glass, supposedly from "Whiskey Oak Barrels".

Clear light gold body, no visible carbonation, thin layer of pure white head small bubbles. Not much going on in the nose, a bit of sour hints and a dryness probably attributable to bacteria, probably lactobacillus. Puckering lemon sourness taste-wise, more sour than tart with a noticeable vinegar astringency. Mouthfeel is medium light, lingering sourness, fairly dry finish. Not sure if this was an intentional sour, or the barrels got infected to the point of no return (my guess, given the buttery profile of the barleywine that was previously aged in these barrels). In any case, it was difficult for multiple people to finish the small glass we shared. Lacking in complexity, no funk, needed more time in barrels. Pass.
