Wednesday 13th April 2011 finds me at John Lennon Airport in Liverpool again: this time a beery trip to Berlin is the reason. Before I board the plane however I had time to drink and review this beer.
Handpulled pint in the Wetherspoons owned bar (Argosy) before the security. The beer was a dirty dishwater orange, murky, dull and cloudy. The head was creamy both in colour and texture, it left some heavy lacing as the beer level sank.
The aroma was of wood and hops, oak trees came to mind.
The taste was fairly dry and hoppy, not a lot of malts to be found.
Medium bodied for a UK bitter and just above average in all aspects apart from the initial look of the beer, which sadly let it down somewhat.
