To celebrate two decades of Mad Mex, we've teamed up with Fat Head’s Brewery straight outta Cleveland to create the special anniversary IPA of our dreams.
As luck would have it, Head Brewmaster Matt Cole spent his youth downwind of Mad Mex Oakland, further qualifying him to usher Dos Décadas IPA into the world. Our twenty year beer clocks in at 7.5% ABV and 80 IBUs. Brewed with the elusive Mosaic hop, this new IPA bubbles with a passion fruity backbone, piney citrus notes, and serious hop flavor — our friends at Fat Head’s calling it “a reckless abuse of hops.”
This wildly limited draft will be available at all Mad Mex locations at 5pm on Wednesday, October 9th, and likely won't see the end of the month. Mark your calendars!

They've got it on tap again at Mad Mex in the fall of 2016.
Pretty golden bronze with thin white head. Lovely aroma of tangerines, peach, orange and white pepper.
These continue to the taste with some moderate hop bitterness and malt sweetness balancing well on the back end. Light to medium bodied with a fairly creamy mouthfeel that has a touch of prickly carbonation cutting through.

Had fairly Fresh of tap. Light amber color with decent clairity. Light white head that disapates quickly. Piney and circus hops smell and taste. Over all petty good ipa that went great with a burrito!

Pretty standard IPA profile, definitely needs more towards the floral / resinous hops side than the over-the-top bitter side that a lot of IPAs cling to. It is balanced and there isn't anything you could say is bad about it except it does very little to stand out from the crowd.

lighter color than i expected. hops smell is a mix of pine with a little citrus which is my preference. this is a serious ipa with a ton of taste.

A very good IPA. Not a surprise from a great brewery like Fat Heads or a restaurant like Mad Mex that has one of the best selections of rotating taps I've ever had a true sit down restaurant. Here's to 20 more years!
