Collaboration with Chardon Brew Works for 2013 Cleveland Beer Week
32oz growler filled at Heinen's in Pepper Pike, Ohio
Growler poured into a tulip. Pours golden with a slight hazy; solid eggshell white head that leaves very nice retention and lacing. The aromas are full of grapefruit and of course sweet mango. There's also hints of caramel malts in the background. Flavors have a juicy bitterness to it. More grapefruit along with hints of pineapple. Of course there's more mango in the mix. Very subtle hints of pine needles. Very earthy. This has a solid malt background, but don't get it twisted, the hop flavor shines. The malts slightly cut down on the hop bitterness, but it still lingers. Mouthfeel feels on the lighter side of full-bodied. It's slick and slightly syrupy with active carbonation. Alcohol goes unnoticed. It's fun and easy to drink.
This is a very nice collaboration. It's a great IPA to enjoy if given the opportunity.
