Got a growler right from the brewery in North Olmstead.
A - Pours a hazy burnt orange with a 1 finger white head and low carbonation. Head dissipated quickly leaving light lacing on the edge. Legs slowly slide down the glass.
S - As soon as I cracked the growler, I got slapped in the face with a strong citrus smell with some subtle dankness. There is some pine in there and a touch of sweet malt on the back end. It's a very strong nose.
T - Really impressive. Citrus up front, which gives way to some dankness. After that, you get some piney bitterness that is balances out with a little caramel malty sweetness. It's pretty fantastic.
M - It's a full bodied beer. It's heavy and slick on the tongue. There is a good amount of bitterness but it's not overpowering.
O - Overall, Fat Head's have proven to be one of the best brewers of hoppy beers that I've had the pleasure of trying. This one is no different. While it's not quite Hop JuJu, it's still a really fantastic beer. You aren't going to crush a ton due to it's ABV, but it's really enjoyable.
