My disclaimer is that I love 4 roses bourbon.

This beer took on many characteristics of the 4 roses barrel extremely well. It's very desserty and the base beer is pummeled by the barrel and bourbon character. If you are looking for balance of RIS and barrel you may not like this one.

Vanilla, char, toffee, chocolate, cinnamon, sweet oakiness, and alcohol warmth/ burn. I personally don't mind the burn. I know others that want it sweet with no heat. If you age a beer in fresh bourbon barrels for 8 months you shouldn't be surprised if there is some healthy burn.

Mouth feel could be thicker but that is it's only real major shortcoming.

This is in my top 3 barrel forward BA Imperial Stouts of all time.

Aged for 8 months in Four Roses barrels!

Completely pitch black with a decently long lasting head and nice glass lacing.

The smell is massive bourbon with nice vanilla and coconut notes completed by oak, chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, toffee and light dark fruits.

Taste follows the aroma exactly and the barrel is a gigantic presence in this beer! Bourbon, roasted malt, coffee, dark/milk chocolate dominate.

The body is full and mouthfeel thick and creamy with the alcohol being incredibly well hidden. Fat Head's barrel program continues to impress!
