obviously these guys are known for their hoppy stuff, and this is another good hoppy beer in their impressive arsenal, but as an english style ipa, im not sure its all the way right on, as tasty as it is. i dont get much english malt on it, the hops are way more flavorful than the grain despite its richer color, an they kind of have a sweetness to them, an oily west coast very american property that seems out of place in an english ipa. there isnt a lot of yeast flavor to this either, which usually i get in the english ones. this seems like flavorless ale yeast. that said. there is a lot of depth to this beer, bitter and bright, floral and fruity, oily and sturdy, the hops really lead the way here. candied orange and hash oil come to mind. less balanced than i like english ipa to be, and without the yeast, it just seems like a slightly maltier west coast type, but its darn good. the flavor lingers long on the finish through the fuller body, and in spite of some style mishmash elements, this beer is real delicious overall.

Reddish-orange with an average head. Decent lacing. Nice floral hop notes mid-palate with a subtle fruit finish. Well balanced and easy to drink. Medium-light carbonation. This is a well done and quaffable. It gets lots in all of the hop bombs on the menu but good none the less. Would have again as it is a nice change of pace beer that has a good hop presence but doesn't crush the palate.
