Fat Head's Brewery & Saloon

Having tried several of Fat Head's attempts to make a TIPA, it occurs to me that they're just not very good at it. Most of the IPA's and DIPA's I've had from them have been great, but this beer was not all that great at all, and was very reminiscent of their not very appealing Head Smasher (so if you loved that, you'll likely love this as well). The beer looks and smells great (plenty of dank week and dry tropical fruit with light pine), but on the palate, the beer is so hot on the finish it's almost undrinkable. Tried this at the recent NWIPA TIPA fest, and at least for me, this was easily the worst beer I tried there. The flavor profile replicates the nose with good bitterness, but the alcoholic bite at the end had me grimacing. I don't know if this beer was made just for the fest or not, but either way, it's a beer I have no interest in ever visiting again.
