32oz growler filled at Heinen's in Bainbridge, Ohio.
Growler poured into a tulip. Pours golden with nice clarity and has bubbles racing upwards; small white head that fades quickly leaving solid retention and lacing. The aromas aren't intense or aggressive, but it still smells nice and clean. It's all lemon. Hints of bread and crackers. Some floral notes. The flavors follow the nose perfectly. It's very clean. All citrus. More lemon leading the way along with some hints of lime. Some pine and fresh grass in the mix. More floral notes. The malts are balanced. It doesn't come off as too bitter with a mild sweetness. It probably finishes more juicier than dry. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's smooth and dangerously drinkable.
This is a solid IPA. It doesn't have your signature Fat Head's hop profile at all. This one features citra and centennial hops, but I'm getting all centennial. It's been awhile since I've had the regular IBUsive, but this wet-hopped version doesn't seem to come close to resembling the original, based off memory. This is still nice in its own right. Well crafted. It's better than my "numerical score" might indicate.
