Head Hunter is an aggressively dry-hopped, West Coast-style IPA with a huge hop display of pine, grapefruit, citrus and pineapple. A punch-you-in-the-mouth brew for those who truly love their hops! Uncivilized. Aggressive. Award-Winning.

This is IPA heaven. Gorgeous in glass with thick uneven head. The taste is hops on top of hops and then some more hops.
A must try for IPA lovers but if you don't like IPA's you may get past one sip.

This a beer that tastes as good as it looks. There are heavy notes of grapefruit with lesser notes of pine and maybe some bitter-tasting pineapple. Overall, it deserves its world-class rating.

$12.99/6 pack of 12oz cans at Bevco. Canned 3/23/26, so pretty fresh.
Brewed with pale malt, wheat, C-15 and carapils. Hopped with Simcoe, Centennial, Mosaic, Citra and Chinook.
7.5% ABV, 75 IBU per the can. OG=16.8, FG=2.8.
Pours out to a brilliantly sparkling clear deep golden, forming a rocky off white head with beautiful retention and solid sheets of lacing. Carbonation is moderately brisk, about ~3.0 carbs or so. The nose is a really nice mix of mango, pineapple, pine, peach and a little dank. The mouthfeel is very crisp for an IPA, very clean, refreshing and finishes dry. Medium light body. The taste is a recap of the nose...but finishes with a more assertive pine and grapefruit pith hop flavor and a firm, yet pleasant, bitterness. What I really like about this IPA is the way it finishes so crisp and dry compared to many other IPAs. I suspect probably some dextrose was used here and a high gypsum level in the water. This makes it relatively easy to drink but the bitterness keeps that in check. No off flavors/aromas/DMS/diacetyl/oxidation.
A very nice bitter and brisk west coast IPA. Aggressive yet clean and full of hop flavor. When you're in the mood for a West coast, grab this one. I'm glad it's come to our area, and I'll be buying some more of this.

For the second beer of the night, we're having this gem of a local. 12 oz can poured into a pint:
Semi-transparent, amber-tinged gold, but LOOK at that thick, fluffy head. Plenty of lacing. The aroma is appropriately piney with a some orange marmalade. There is some sweetness there from the citrus. And the taste is, as everyone knows by now, delicious. It's the right amount of pleasant bitterness. Very crisp with a sweet and malty backbone, hops and citrus throughout. The right weight in body with smart carbonation.
It's Fat Head's. They know what they're doing.
