This puppy has density, viscosity, and overall complexity. Rich chocolate malts gives this brew its deep black color and subtle sweetness. Anerican hops level out this dog’s bite. Once you start down this dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.

On tap at the Eclipse Company Store (Ohio).
Appearance. Essentially black body with a fine, near creamy, durable tan head.
The aroma did not really even hint at the fine, rich and complex flavor, with light smoke in the aftertaste. Exceptionally smooth body with soft carbonation that seems perfect.

Having this beer on tap at the brewery. This beer draws a very dark, almost black color with a dark tan, creamy looking head that’s about half an inch thick when first drawn and served. Head eventually settles do a thin ring letting the inside of the glass at the beers and surface along with some decent lacing. Aromas of roasted malts and nice hints of chocolate followed by an earthy hop note. Has a very similar flavor profile, with the aforementioned roasted malts with some dark chocolate bitter sweetness, a bit more bitterness from a hint of black coffee and the earthy hops that round it all out quite nicely indeed. A well balanced flavor profile here. Has a smooth, also crisp, Just slightly gritty, medium to full bodied mouth feel with moderate carbonation. All of the flavors with her nicely on my power for a long time in the aftertaste after each step. Another excellent beer from the fine folks at fat heads.

11/18/22 On tap at Fat Head's Saloon, Pittsburgh PA. Date day after Leah's hip doctor visit.
From the aroma, mouth feel, flavor, and finish, this is one amazing offering!
Deep, impenetrable ebony.
Molasses, raisin, and vanilla aromas.
In the mouth, it's creamy smooth and just a tiny bit of effervescence on the sides and tip of the tongue. It's creamy thick, yet finishes bright and not heavy.
The flavor is over the top! Deep, roasty, cocoa. Vanilla, raisin, and shoo-fly pie! Mmmmm! More, please!

Draft at the Cleveland brewery
Big fizzy semi dense 1 finger tan head with med retention, dark almost jet black color
Nose big roast and dark chocolate, cocoa, baking spice with a bit of wafer cookie, mild roasted coffee, hint smokey
Taste big baker's chocolate, cocoa, little wafer cookie with dark chocolate and baking spices, some roast, med bitterness as spicy earthy hops kick in, thick fudgey but with drier finish, more spicy hop lingering
Mouth is fuller bod, almost chewy thick, med frothy carb, almost no alcohol
Overall solid porter
