The "Hefe" prefix means "with yeast" which gives this unfiltered wheat beer a somewhat cloudy or "foggy" appearance. Light aromas of wheat, bubblegum, clove and spice.

this is good, but for all the hype these guys get for the hoppy stuff, i expected a little more from it, its solid and its drinkable, professionally made and all that, bubbly, wheaty, good, but also it very much drinks like an american brewery, not a german one, tackling the style, and even if its technically solid, it still seems not all the way old worldy, and it seems odd that its won so many gold medals, including gabf this year, is this really the standard for the style domestically? maybe the best ones arent entering, are breweries over gabf? i think definitely to some degree, none of which is an indictment of this, its solid, but its also not up the what the gold standard is in my mind, if that counts for anything at all. cloudy and high headed it certainly looks the part, and it has an aroma of banana and spices, candied citrus and clove to me, starchy and wheaty, toasted and sort of warm, but with like a cooling lemon or just sliced orange note as well, no fruit needed in here, good minerality also apparent in the nose, a honey note, off dry, fairly classic but well proportioned, more expressive in the aroma as it warms too, no surprise there, no complaints at all. the flavor is similar, good, maybe its just the yeast, it seems like a million others of these, a generic pitch not something specific to a place, if that makes sense, not unique even if its deployed more effectively here than in most, its the same notes, and so the beer seems samey too, even if its quality is appreciable. am i crazy? good carbonation, plenty of wheat flavor and texture which is half the point here, so well done there, and id happily drink this anytime, even if its not a have seven of them thing for me. i guess with how unavailable their beer is where i live, and how well documented their greatness apparently is, i wanted to be blown away by this, especially with its recent gold, but it didnt quite do that for me. a plenty serviceable american made hefeweizen though, dont get me wrong!

Pretty good, I like the citrus scent and smooth mouth feel, but it has a bit of a weird aftertaste
As far as beer in general goes, I'd recommend it, but I still feel like there are better wheat beers out there

On draught.
A hazy straw colored pour. Nice head, little lacing
Toasted wheat malt, along with classic banana & clove yeast accompaniment. An enjoyable Bactine flavor , citrus, bubble gum, pleasant hops and finish, albeit a little on the sweet side.

12oz can. Bottom lip stamp for dating is 'CANNED ON 07/03/24'.
Cloudy, unfiltered, dark gold colored body. Long lasting off white head, which is small bubble and creamy. Short strings of lacing are left behind.
Aroma is wheat malt, pencil eraser and bubble gum, cloves, and definite banana.
Taste is sweet yet tangy from the wheat malt, with flavors of cloves, banana, dry yeast, and a bit of coriander. The aftertaste is long lasting and continues more with the sweet malt than the tangy, and also has the spices and banana.
More than medium mouthfeel. Very smooth and coating, yet spicy and tangy. Very good carbonation.
Fits for style but quite sweet.

One of the best American Heffes I've had, can't touch the best German beers but still good stuff.

On tap at The Apothecary Ale House in Morgantown WV.
Perhaps the best "American" hefe on the market? Spice and banana on the fore front make this an excellent choice.

It really does not get any better for a Hefeweizen... Even comparing with the best examples in Munich on tap at the source, Goggle still edges them out with it's beautiful banana esters, doughy malt character and the right balance of the clove. Wonderful body, lively carbonation. It's a beautifully made beer.
For the style, I have yet to have a better one. Therefor, well deserved 5's across the board.
