Very Good

Notes: The "Hefe" prefix means "with yeast" which gives this unfiltered wheat beer a somewhat cloudy or "foggy" appearance. Light aromas of wheat, bubblegum, clove and spice.

12oz can. It poured out a cloudy, golden yellow color with a large, off-white head of foam that left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of yeastiness, grasses and wheat. Sweet wheat taste with a spicy finish. Nice a crisp with a smooth finish.

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from my local Giant Eagle store. It poured a clear golden with no head and no lace. The scent had hints of banana and clove. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with typical heffe flare....banana, biscuit and touch of clove. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

Look: Hazy pale yellow with an off-white head, visible fast rising carbonation, and some lacing.
Smell: Smells like bananas just like it should.
Taste: Tastes like clove/banana/bubblegum as you would expect from German Hefeweizen
Feel: Mouthfeel is kind of dry. Not as sweet as Belgians but its not a Belgian beer so that doesn’t matter.
Overall: Overall a nice hefeweizen. The style inspires me more than this actual beer. My next hefeweizen will be a different because this is not a style that I am familiar with.

Ah Goggle Fogger. This one was a real surprise and treat.

Normally, my palate is not so keen on hefeweizens. They can be an enjoyable, easy drinking lot for sure, but straddling the right balance between pronouncing the style's endearing notes and those on the less desirable end of its spectrums seems a challenge. Goggle Fogger has firmly landed in my lineup of go-to beers.

Beer was poured on tap from a kegerator into a .5 liter Franziskaner hefeweizen glass. Nice, clean white head a few inches in height that proves resilient, with remnants clinging to the side of the vessel though retention is more middling comparatively. The taste is clean, with the traditional banana and clove flavors dancing on the tongue, complemented by faint walnut. Neither cloying nor overbearing, the taste is enough to invite for a second and third round. Color is a light orange peel straw. Feel is light, with enough substance to linger a bit and allow residuals flavors to shine and gently fade away.

This beer is local to me and thus very fresh. On tap takes it to a new stratosphere. I've worked my way through a third of this keg in short order... with some friends' help of course. This seems a very underrated beer by other folks, but my experience and perspective on this style of beer is limited. Bottom line is that Fat Head's Goggle Fogger has made me a happy convert! Would buy another keg.

Straw yellow in color with a light haze. Poured with a tall, soapy, bright white foam with medium low retention. Wheat malt, under-ripe banana and mellow peppery aromas. Medium light bodied with soft medium carbonation. Mellow peppery spiciness along with sweet under-ripe banana. Finished with light peppery notes and lingering sweet banana. Esters were very nicely balanced making thus a pretty tasty bree. Carbonation was a bit light...that's my only knock.

16 oz. pour into a shaker glass at Brunzie's in Indiana, PA. Perhaps not the best glass for this beer. Poured a hazy pale straw color with a two finger white head. The head was not the typical frothy head you see on the best German hefes. Aroma was faint with just a detectable whiff of bubblegum and clove. Faint taste of banana and clove but none of the breadiness of the better hefe's. Carbonation and feel was a bit more like a lager to me. Unlike many of the other reviewers, I find this most unremarkable. I have had this once before at a beer fest and and remember it being similar to this current review. However, given the high ratings from others, I will give it another shot soon. Next time from a can or bottle.

12oz canned on 07/10/19 (27 days ago) poured into a perfect pint glass at fridge temp 5.4% ABV 12 IBU. The beer pours hazy straw yellow with nearly white head. The head recedes to a pencil thin ring and a few tiny bubbles. No lacing. The aroma is yeasty with clove, banana and bubblegum all mixed in. The taste is semisweet and wheaty up front with mild clove & banana appearing before a mostly dry, barely bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium to thin bodied with adequate carbonation. Overall, very good. This is a very nice summer beer with somewhat restrained yeast character.

Pours cloudy golden, Head diminished quickly. Aroma banana and bubble gum. Taste similar to smell. I find this to be a refreshing summer beer. I've had better wheat beers but Google Fogger is pretty good. I'll pick up another 6 pack.

Enjoying this beer sitting out on my patio with a good friend as the fire we made is dying out on this nice July night. Poured into my Hefeweizen glass, this beer pours a very cloudy/hazy light to medium golden color with lots of streams of little bubbles fairly rapidly and continuously rising to the beer’s surface. Has a huge white head that’s about 2-3 inches thick when first poured. Settles to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass along with a nice big cluster swirl of a film layer of surface foam. Excellent lacing. Aromas of bready malts, wheat, banana esters, and clove notes are all nicely present. The taste is exactly the same, and spot on for the style, with bready malts and wheat with a nice sweetness that gives way to very nice banana and clove notes. Not really any discernible hop flavors here, and that’s not unexpected. Has a crisp, also smooth and frothy, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Very easy to drink with a clean and somewhat sweet and just slightly spicy finish and aftertaste.

I like Goggle Fogger. It tastes a lot like a Weihenstephaner or Schneider Weiss, but with a bit of extra spice and more kick.

It's German styled, not Traditional German, meaning that the notes a Weizen is known for, are amplified. Banana and clove are usually what I take out of it. (Not actual bananas, but there is an aroma about it)

If you want to switch up your usual Blue Moon or Hoegaarden, this is your beer.

Thanks to rudzud
Light fizzy head, fair retention but not great, hazy cloudy pale apricot color

Nose nice hefe, creamy doughy wheat, big banana and a little coffee spice, light citrus generic fruit

Taste more hefe, creamy doughy wheat, big banana and fruity esters, light clove spices, mild sweet creamy, light bitterness, nice mild citrus

Mouth is med to lighter bod, medium carb not quite effervescent but ok

Overall not bad, quite nice, wish it had a bit more effervescent carb but otherwise nice

Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice light haze golden hue with a thin white head that fades to leave a thin halo.

S - Aromas of excellent banana notes, flashes of cloves, great bubblegum as well along with real nice esters. Solid wheat notes as well.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of bubblegum and banana notes. Nice creamy wheat and esters.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, little creamy and nicely crisp.

O - Overall this was a very solid hefeweizen. Excellent banana characteristics. A great summer time beer.

Canned on 4/17/19. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy yellowish golden with a huge fluffy eggshell white head that falls leaving nice retention and lacing. The aromas have some banana and bubblegum going on. Malts are there. Some yeasts and wheat. The flavors follow the nose. More banana and bubblegum leading the way. Mild spice notes. Some fresh grass. Some bread and crackers. Low bitterness. Nice malt backbone. Yeasts do their thing. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is on the fuller side of light-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's very fluffy, creamy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a pretty solid brew. It's more or less what you would expect from the style. It's refreshing, enjoyable and fun to drink.

16oz pour in a shaker pint glass, on tap at South Park Tavern, Dayton, OH.

Appearance: Cloudy golden yellow. Thin white head with some persistent lacing.

Smell: Banana and a bit of clove.

Taste: Banana, a bit of wheat tang, and just a bit of bubblegum + clove. A bit on the sweet side and missing some depth of flavor.

Mouthfeel: Good thickness, a bit chewy, good carbonation.

Overall / Drinkability: A rather ho-hum Hefeweizen. Went okay with pizza, but nothing special.

Traditional optics. Aroma is a little bubble gum, a little banana, but nothing really stands out. Taste follows a similar pattern but with a little hop dash at the end. Solid but a tad anonymous

I am a big fan of Hefeweizen. I have consumed some of the world's best of this style, including consumption of this genre in Bavarian bier gardens. This is top notch and rivals the best in the world. Seek out and enjoy. Now.

Very nice hefeweizen it the Bavarian style and just as good. In fact, being US made fresh it is like having one in Munich. Great hazy color and a nice yeasty nose and taste. Lots of extract and good carbonation. I must admit I am a big fan of hefes which probably biases my ratings. I could drink many of these.

I'm not a gigantic fan of hefeweizens, but this is one of the best ones I have had. I too commonly come across hefeweizens that are either loaded with spice flavors, or have an excessive amount of banana... this has an incredible balance of flavors all around. The feel is on--point, right in the middle as well. One of the few times where I wanted more of a hefe. Awesome beer.

Had on tap at Fat Head's. Review from notes.

A: Pours a hazy amber color with a nice white/foamy head on top with great retention and lacing.

S: Lots of banana and clove, with hints of bubblegum and some grassy hops.

T: The spices and bubblegum are more prominent on the flavor profile mixed in with more banana. There is a bit of citrus rind as well and some clove and pepper.

M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation, crisp and refreshing.

O: A solid hefe, easy drinking with the flavors I look for in the style.

This poured out as a bright yellow color with a haziness to it and a white head on top. The smell of the beer had the traditional clove and banana like aromas to it. The taste of the beer was decent, it was a little lighter in flavor than I expected though. The mouthfeel was a bit on the watery side with a slightly aggressive amount of carbonation to it. Overall it's a decent Hefe, nothing too crazy going on here.

Super cloudy, super mucky. Dark muddy orange. Retaining a thin cap well. 3.5

Bubble gum, desserty banana, tutti frutti, and light lemon and orange. Ridiculously fruity and exquisite. Only the faintest hint of clove. 4.5

More clove-y in the taste. Lots of bubble gum and assorted citrus. Big banana element blends with smacking malty wheat. Smooth flavors, no huskiness. Ripe and very expressive. Teeny trace of booze in the finish, where the clove spice crescendos. Low carbonation, but a luxurious wide body. Milky smooth. 4.0, 4.0

Long time coming before trying this. A beer I'd buy a keg of for the house. 4.5

Appearance - The appearance certainly reminds us that this is a Hefeweizen. A sour-looking cidery yellow and green. Opaque and cloudy without looking murky at all. Looks absolutely delicious.

Smell - Aromas of light apple and banana. A bready Belgian nose upfront. Pleasant, but not overpowering.

Taste - Wow, not what I was expecting. Complex and lightly sour apple slides into fresh bananas. The fruits then slide into a sweet malty back. Wheaty, but not too grassy or overdone with earth-tones. A multitude of flavors. I was very impressed with this beer.

Mouthfeel and Drinkability - Light, springy, with some thickness in the consistency. Lightly sour bananas and apples. Really, really nice.
