Served in a snifter at the North Olmstead location, $6.50 for a 12 oz draft.
Look - Dark, very dark brown, with a stained white foam a good 1/2 inch thick. It looks bottomless.
Smell - It smells as advertised. You can smell the chocolatey aroma mixed with smooth peanut butter. You can practically taste the bitterness of the chocolate and the creamy nuttiness from the smell alone.
Taste - It also tastes as advertised. It's delicious and desserty. You will get the chocolate with a slight bitterness, followed by the kiss of peanut butter sunk within the roastiness of the malts. Well-balaned; not overly sweet at all.
Feel - It's deep, heavy, and quite full. Decadent is a good way to describe it, but it's not going to give you cavities. It's rich but not difficult to drink.
I knew FHs was known for their IPAs, and I have had other beers like Spooky Tooth before, but didn't know they were making stouts like these. If I see peanut butter, I have to try it, and this was well worth it. Hope it becomes more than a one-off experiment.
