Hazelnut Cream Battle Axe

Porter with a bunch of roasted malts meets hazelnut coffee and vanilla beans. Somehow it doesn’t taste as good as it sounds, but definitely still quite enjoyable.

Having this beer on-tap at the brew pub at the North Olmstead location. Served in a stange glass, this beer draws a very dark brown color with some dark ruby highlights around the edges when held up to the light. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee hazelnut, and a nice hint of vanilla. The flavor profile is very similar, with a fairly heavy roasted malt presence that is followed by a roasted coffee, hazelnut, and a nice dash of vanilla. Also some dank and earthy hop notes, the bitterness of which nicely compliments the rest of the malts and of the coffee. Has a very well balanced flavor profile That makes this a very enjoyable, drinkable beer. Has a crisp, also smooth, just slightly oily, medium to full body mouthfeel, with moderate carbonation the roasted finish lingers nicely in the aftertaste. Another very good beer from Fat Head's!
